All-Clad Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Dutch Oven Big Discount

All-Clad Stainless 5-1/2-Quart Dutch Oven
Braised and baked foods have never tasted so good as when prepared using this dutch oven by All-Clad. Attractively designed and incredibly tough, it is constructed of three layers of metal; two stainless steel outer layers with an aluminum core. The stainless steel exterior combined with the aluminum core allows the pot to be used on all types of stovetops, including induction, and heats it evenly to eliminate hot spots. The included stainless steel lid holds in heat and steam to create succulent and juicy meals, and has an easy to grasp handle paired with looped side handles to make the piece easy to move around the kitchen. Sure to impress all, not least of which yourself, the braiser is excellent at preparing foods such as braised veal shanks, baked beans, one pot meals and slow cooked meats.

Producing some of the finest cookware in the nation, All-Clad has been featured in many high class and gourmet restaurants for its superior performance and aesthetically designed pieces crafted from American artists using the finest metals. A firm believer in quality over convenience, All-Clad's metals are formulated and bonded with cooking performance in mind, and are combined with stunning designs to provide you with the best cooking experience possible. The bestseller among All-Clad's renowned cookware collections, the Stainless line provides serious and professional cooks with all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. Sandwiched between the exterior and an 18/10 stainless-steel interior is a thick aluminum core that spreads heat evenly across the bottom of the pan and all the way up its sides. The interior is 18/10 stainless steel, highly polished so it's stick- as well as stain- and corrosion-resistant. The exterior is gleaming, magnetic stainless steel that works on induction as well as conventional stovetops and, with care, remains beautiful during this cookware's lifetime warranty against defects--and beyond.

This 5-1/2-quart Dutch oven makes clear why All-Clad Stainless is so popular--it's practical as well as beautiful. This pot is perfect for braising veal shanks, baking beans, or slow cooking choucroute under its domed lid. Because the aluminum core extends up the sides, foods cook uniformly, even though the oven is 4-1/4 inches deep (10-3/4 inches in diameter). And because the interior is nonreactive, tomatoes and other acidic foods won't taste metallic. Its polished 18/10 stainless-steel lid and stay-cool loop handles are riveted for strength and won't be harmed by an oven's heat. Although Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

From the Manufacturer
All-Clad Stainless Construction
Each piece of All-Clad cookware features a unique metal bonding construction. All-Clad Stainless cookware sandwiches a thick core of three separate layers of aluminum between an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless-steel cooking surface and a magnetic stainless-steel exterior. The aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it along the bottom and up the sidewalls of the cookware. The stainless interior is stick-resistant and cleans easily. The magnetic stainless-steel exterior gives the cookware a gleaming finish. All-Clad Stainless also features the company’s signature "stay-cool" long handles, lids fashioned from gleaming 18/10 stainless steel, and highly durable stainless-steel rivets. All-Clad Stainless cookware is one of five collections from All-Clad Metalcrafters. Designed to work on conventional gas and electric ranges, as well as induction cooktops, All-Clad Stainless cookware is the best-selling collection in a full line that includes All-Clad LTD, Cop-R-Chef, Master Chef 2, and Copper Core.

Features and Benefits
All-Clad pans with a stainless interior cooking surface are oven-safe up to 500 degrees. All-Clad pans with a non-stick cooking surface are oven-safe up to 400 degrees, but should not be used under the broiler. We recommend using a low to medium temperature when cooking with All-Clad. Higher heats are not necessary and may cause discoloration (see cleaning instructions below). Other features include:

  • Beautifully polished, magnetic stainless exterior layer.
  • Pure aluminum core that not only covers the bottom of the pan but also extends up the sides. This allows for great heat conductivity as well as an even heat distribution so you won’t have "hot spots" when cooking.
  • Stainless-steel interior layer/cooking surface.
  • Long, polished stainless, stay-cool handles.
  • Sturdy, non-corrosive stainless-steel rivets won't react with foods.
  • Polished stainless-steel lids fit evenly with the pan’s edges to seal in flavor of your foods.
  • The All-Clad Stainless collection is compatible with an induction stovetop (with the exception of a few pieces) in addition to gas and electric stovetops.
  • The Stainless collection is dishwasher-safe, excluding pieces with a nonstick cooking surface.

Warranty
From date of purchase, All-Clad guarantees to repair or replace any item found defective in material, construction or workmanship under normal use and following care instructions. This excludes damage from misuse or abuse. Minor imperfections and slight color variations are normal.

Cleaning Instructions
For daily cleaning, warm soapy water is sufficient. Clean your All-Clad thoroughly after each use. Food films left of the pan may cause discoloration and sticking. To get rid of stuck-on food or discoloration and stains from using too high of a heat, we recommend cleaning your All-Clad with a product called Bar Keeper’s Friend. To use the Bar Keeper’s Friend, simply use a soft cloth or sponge and water and make into a soupy paste. This can be used on the interior, as well as the exterior of your All-Clad (excluding the Cop-R-Chef). The Bar Keeper’s Friend can also be used on the exterior of the All-Clad Stainless collection, LTD collection, and MC2 collection. For cleaning of the Cop-R-Chef exterior, simply use a brass/copper cleaner. If your water has a high iron content, you may notice a rusty discoloration. Use Bar Keeper’s Friend to remove it.

In recent years, a professional-size 14-inch fry pan was added to the Stainless fry pan assortment, as well as several popular specialty pans, including: the small-size petite brasier with a dome-shaped lid; petite roti roasting pan; and the beautiful, large-capacity Dutch oven and French oven oval roasting pan with roasting rack. My favorite pan
I bought this after reading a comparison of dutch ovens in "Cook's Illustrated." This one, along with I think LeCrueset, ranked highest (and this one was lighter-weight). I have not been disappointed. I use it for soups, stews, pot roast, etc. It conducts heat beautifully and even cleans up well. It's just a great tool.

Old Faithful
Well it's not that old, but it is my go-to pot for soups, stews and braising large pieces. Stainless steel is the best because I can put it in the dishwasher. It heats well because of the All-Clad technology. High sides make it an excellent pot for frying. I've seen folks use cast iron Dutch ovens. I'm not willing to give up "dishwasher safe" for a pot that weighs a ton.
I use this ALL the time
Don't let the price tag scare you - this pot will become one of the main tools in your kitchen. And you'll be hooked and you'll go back for more.

A few years ago I went to a famous kitchen store to purchase Le Creuset, but they were out of the size I wanted and the saleslady suggested this All Clad dutch oven. She said, "I'm waiting for my own Le Creuset to wear out so I can get one of these."

I took her advice, and I use this pot ALL THE TIME. At least once a week I use it to roast a whole chicken in the oven. I use it for spaghetti, casseroles, soup, jambalaya - anything. It works equally well in the oven or on the stove top. It's easy to clean - even oven-baked-on food comes off with a little soaking and a scrubber sponge.

I don't have a lot of money but I considered this a lifetime investment that was worth every penny. I am so sick of the cheap and flimsy Chinese products that have saturated the market. It is SO refreshing to find cookware that is...

Perfect little cocottes
These are great for single servings. They work just expect any Staub product to do. I especially love the way they hold heat and keep the food warm.

tiny but only $5 more than Le Creuset's stoneware ramekin
How's that for a spendthrift rationalization? I'm not purchasing this because of issues with spendthriftiness and hoarding.

I think the brass knob with the yellow is so pretty and cheerful like a little bird. It will really dress up the table and usually I don't care but I love the combination of sturdiness and tininess.

The mini cocottes sold faster than the 2 quart size. I know that some expensive restaurants are using them but I wonder what is most effectively served in them. A truly delectable glutinous rice recipe? Individual pots of melted cheese? Buy one and serve melted peanut butter at breakfast or for children's sandwiches replacing the purchase of a diablo? How about dissolving raspberry jam for a quick thin sauce to pour over aebleskiver?

1 hour at 350 degrees F if you are scared to put this on a hot stove:

Cheese Fondu
(From Gourmet Magazine 1966 & 2001)
1 garlic clove, halved crosswise
1 1/2 cups dry white...
I use it all the time.
I bought this pot to make No-Knead Bread in. I bought a bread machine instead and never looked back. But now I had this small pot sitting in my kitchen. Since I am single it turns out I use it to boil water for spaghetti, and about everything else I can think of. Staub is very very good product. It has the lid with the dimples so that it bastes with the moisture inside. You too will love it or any Staub product.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-1/2-Quart Round French Oven, Cherry Big Discount

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 3-1/2-Quart Round French Oven, Cherry
Beautiful enough for the table yet durable enough to outlive its lifetime limited warranty, this heavy, round, 3-1/2-quart French oven offers a convenient capacity for preparing and serving one-pot dinners for two, smaller entrees, or side dishes like macaroni and cheese or any variety of rice. Like all Le Creuset cast-iron products, it's hand cast in a one-of-a-kind sand mold and hand finished at the Le Creuset factory in France.

The cast-iron oven provides a colorful, long-lasting exterior enamel that resists chipping and cracking and a durable, nonreactive sand-colored interior enamel that offers a smooth surface for cooking, as well as an optimal palette for food presentation. As cast iron is unexcelled for even heat distribution and superior heat retention, and enamel is impervious to acids and odors, the oven browns and cooks food uniformly and gently without hot spots and can be used for marinating, cooking on the stovetop, or finishing in the oven. Two loop cast-iron side handles help ensure safe transport and a steady grip even when wearing oven mitts, and the unit's secure-fitting lid locks in heat and moisture while cooking. The lid's phenolic knob withstands heat up to 350 degrees F, and the vessel can be safely used on any stovetop, including induction. Though dishwasher-safe, Le Creuset recommends hand-washing the French oven for best results. If a slow-roasted chicken or rich ratatouille sounds incredibly tempting, this round French oven, a great casserole dish, will help satiate your cravings. The versatility of Le Creuset's dish lets you prepare a recipe on the stove and then move it to the oven, or bake it completely in the oven and then transfer it to table and finally into the dishwasher. This pan has been fashioned in France from porcelain enamel cast iron, giving it a durable weight and a beautiful finish. Also, cast iron distributes heat evenly and requires cooking with only low to medium temperatures. The pan's design and tight fitting lid keep the moisture in with foods (to avoid drying) and maintain full flavor. Always cool this pan before washing, and avoid abrasive pads or cleaners. --Teresa Simanton

Creuset Casseroles are the Best
The single best pots for doing rich chicken dishes and the like. Conducts heat perfectly, well-balanced and very easly to clean. So many great meals have emerged from these pots that I tend to cook more frequently, especially the more slow-cooking or complex dishes.

I inheirited one of these pots and then bought another. Since then I have excused all similar imitations from the kitchen.

If I had to equipt my kitchen with 3 cooking pots/pans, this would come right after the skillet and sauce pan.

Le Creuset cookware
I have loved the two pieces of LeCreuset that I ordered. I have a glass cooktop (which I curse!) and cookware has to be absolutely flat for good heat transfer. Through the years I have tried various brands (Calphalon, Farberware, etc) and Le Creuset is the best I have ever used. The lid seals tightly, making for an energy efficient design. It has been easy to clean as well and looks great! I purchased my first piece in order to bake my favorite no-knead bread recipe: it requires a covered pot to bake it at 450 degrees, and few cookware brands have handles that can withstand that high a temperature. Le Creuset does, and has performed beautifully. It is also great for braising and stewing. Follow directions and do not use the highest heat setting, it is uneccessary and can damage the pot.
Wonderful product
This French Oven is just the right size for the two of us. I can fill it halfway for a typical meal, or make a double recipe in order to freeze some for another time. It browns things well, goes easily from stove-top to oven, holds the heat in during long simmering, cleans up quickly with a little soak in warm water, and looks great. I have owned some other products from Le Creuset, and they never disappoint.
